Very professional service altogether. At first, it seemed like they were more expensive than others, but after speaking with the woman who answered the phone and understanding their knowledge, experience, and overall great personalities...it was a no-brainer who to go with. I called several places, and nobody came close to the professionalism and experience I had with them.
When they came out (they actually called earlier than the appointment time to find out if they could come EARLIER than the appointment time), they were incredibly punctual. It was clear the main man who showed up has done this for over 30 years. He had many things to say and go over. Very helpful, though I am more of a question asker than probably your "typical" customer.
He was VERY honest, telling me that I really did not need a cleaning, so they would inspect it and it would turn out to be LESS EXPENSIVE than I had planned. However, after expressing a concern I have about rodent/birds having access to the chimney, he installed a screen enclosure over the top for a very reasonable price.
I highly recommend this company if you want to deal with a kind, professional, and honest company.

Shelton and his crew had previously worked on chimney to repair leaks around the outside. During that work, he noticed the chimney cap and masonry were in bad shape. He took pictures to show me the problem. We agreed it needed work, so he returned later to install a stainless steel cap and put new mortar on top. The old mortar had to be removed first. The mortar and cap both carry a lifetime guarantee. Then they applied a chimney sealer solution to protect it from further water damage for 10 years. During the repair work, they accidentally broke a hose attachment of mine. I didn't even know it was broken until he returned a few days later with a new one. Not all contractors would do that.

From the initial call, the personnel of this company were nice and professional. The work crew arrived at the appointed time and began the cleaning and inspection of the fireplace and chimney. They found problems with the mortar cap as well as the metal cap. Because of the problems, the inspection could not be completed. Arrangements were made for them to return on another date of my choosing after completing a new estimate on the repair work to be done. Photos were taken of the problem and shown to me and were also e-mailed to me.
On their return to complete the repair work, they again arrived on time, fixed the problems to the mortar cap and completed the inspection. They also cleaned the dryer vents and placed animal guards over the vent. The crew advised that they would have to return the next day to seal the edges to the metal cap and the following day, returned and completed the work. The crew was professional, clean and pleasant. They took the time to discuss the problems and still completed the work in a timely manner. The cost of the repair work was $775 and change.

We cannot say enough about the Ace of Sweeps. They came and inspected our fireplace, as we were not sure it had ever been used. We got an appointment right away and were told our fireplace was fine and mostly likely had never been used. We then asked them about fireplace doors. They quoted us a wonderful price and ordered doors from the same manufacturer of our insert. They fit perfectly. They called us and came out the same afternoon they were able to pick up the doors. Installed them in less than an hour. They look just wonderful. We are so pleased. I would give them TEN stars if I could and would recommend them 110%.

Shelton cleaned the chimney (it is oversized and had very heavy creosote buildup) and also gave me a thorough estimate on additional work that was needed. I had masonry cracks, the damper needed to be replaced and I needed a new chimney tray. I subsequently had him do all that work as well. He is also going to install gas logs for me.

First, Shelton is excellent at letting you know when he and/or his crew are going to be there to do the work. Then they show up when promised. If there is any problem, he lets you know. They are very careful about doing the work, and my house was not disturbed at all. I was happy with the quality of the work and with Shelton's recommendations for additional work. I would not hesitate to recommend him at all. Excellent experience all the way around.

Ace of Sweeps provided numerous “before and after photos” of the problems that were not easily visible to the homeowner without climbing on the roof, going up in the attic, or peering into impossible places behind the dryer and up the dryer vent hose.

This company was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. I was able to choose what appointment day worked best for my schedule. The day of the appointment, Mr. Calvert called because he was running early and wanted to confirm if he could arrive early. He and his assistant went straight to work. They were efficient with their work and cleaned up after themselves. He identified a couple of small issues and had the materials in the truck to complete the repairs.

They suggested changing out the dryer vent for a more free-flow enclosed vent. Overall, very pleased with their responsiveness and thoroughness.
